Stadium Trains

Planning of the WestpacTrust Stadium in Wellington was constrained by several factors - the restricted site; a campaign by Thorndon residents to prevent Stadium parking in their suburb and the need to maintain rail access to the Port.

The solution was an elevated walkway to the Stadium entrance. Ramps from the station platforms, from a bus parking area on Port land and from Featherston St encouraged the use of public transport. The rail line to the port passes under the walkway.

This page documents trains to the Westpac Trust Stadium in February 2002.

A Stadium ticket provides return travel to the Stadium. It costs $6 on the Hutt and Paraparaumu lines and $3 on the Johnsonville line.
