79 Trap Points Taita

The down main at Taita is protected from runaway vehicles in the storage siding by 79 Trap Points. This page documents 79 Trap Points as they exist in November 2001.

In their normal position 78 points deflect runaway vehicles to the left, towards the open 79 traps. Note that 79 traps are operated by a dedicated motor, rather than by rodding from 79 points.

The Up Main is potected by the normal position of 78 points; the Down Main is protected by the trap points.
