33B trap points at the southern entrance to Hutt workshops. Originally there were two traps, protected by one points indicator. When the siding to redundant land was lifted the points indicator was not moved, leaving it about several metres from the remaining trap. Automatic signalling has been removed but the detector is still needed for crossing alarms.

A second track, also with trap points, once ran between the traps seen here and the detector. The second track served now redundant land on the right. When the second track was removed the points indicator was not moved.

The horizontal rod operates the switch. I do not think that the electrical detector is connected to anything, although this is not clear. Note the rusting bracing rod which was once associated with traps on a now lifted track. The former location of the lifted track can be seen on the sleeper.
