Trentham Race Trains

At Trentham the double line from Wellington becomes single. Usually all trains use the Up platform. However, when there are races at the adjacent Trentham racecourse the Down, or Racecourse platform, is used. From this platform punters can walk directly to the racecourse.

On 21 January 2002 - Wellington Cup Day - I purchased a Day Rover ticket, boarded a train at Epuni and made several journeys between Heretaunga and Upper Hutt. My aim was to produce a Cup Day page.

In fact I have created a composit page, using photographs from several race days in 2001 and 2002 and also several non-cup day photographs.

A $10 Day Rover Ticket allows unlimited travel over the Wellington suburban system. The ticket can be used after 8:59am weekdays, all weekend and on public holidays.
